Rowan Bay has been born from a passion for babywearing, a deep love of nature and all
things wild, which you will see reflected throughout Rowan Bay's designs and ethos.
I set up Rowan Bay after falling for woven wraps with my second child. Initially deciding on carrying him just like I had his sister on hikes in the countryside years earlier, I had no idea just how important babywearing would become in our journey. Living in the city, it is certainly
easier to carry, and very quickly all our adventures were possible because of babywearing and woven wraps.
It is clear now, that carrying my baby close not only strengthened our bond, but it personally helped me a lot along the way, something I have heard echoed by other parents in the babywearing community. This is partly my motivation to committing to give away one wrap per large release to a sling library or babywearing educator.
As a result of my own babywearing journey, I wanted to create luxury woven wraps, designed for adventures - to be comfortable, strong and visually stunning - drawing on inspiration from the world around us and translating that into elegant and environmentally sustainable woven textiles.
From the very beginning it has been important to
me that all the creative and design work is carried out in house and that the wraps are manufactured here in the UK, supporting local and independent businesses where I can. It is also essential that Rowan Bay has a minimal environmental impact and so you'll never find any plastic in our products or packaging and we'll only print on recycled paper.
I hope that you enjoy Rowan Bay wovens as much as I have enjoyed creating them and will join me on this exciting new journey.
